2017 European Convention for additive manufacturing

For the 25th birthday of AFPR (French association of prototyping), the 2017, European Convention for additive manufacturing will take place within the premises of CentraleSuprélec, in Châtenay-Malabry on June, 27th to 29th.

During this event, will be gathered actors of conception, simulation and more broadly of the digital chain, to discuss different topics about the current state of technology, but also about all the key success factors.

VOLUM-e will take part in these debates, with the animation of a conference on Wednesday, June 28th by Eric Baustert, R&D Manager, entitled : “Post-processing in additive manufacturing : the ways of improvement”.

Leader in plastic and metal additive manufacturing, VOLUM-e exhibits at the Paris Air Show from June 19th to 25th 2017.

After 2016, highlighted by important investments in machinery and by the launch of its new additive manufacturing platform, VOLUM-e participates in its 4th edition of Paris Le Bourget International Air and Space Show. The SME from Normandy will exhibit several finished products in the fields of aerospace, automotive or luxury.

At the forefront of prototyping, VOLUM-e is a leader in high-quality plastic and metal additive manufacturing. VOLUM-e is involved in many industries, from co-design to finished parts.

Launched in 2015 at Blangy-sur-Bresle in France, VOLUM-e enables the production of highly complex parts in small to medium series.

Already member of Normandy AeroEspace (NAE) since 2009, VOLUM-e joined, as affiliate member the company cluster called, Nadtek, an initiative led by NAE and founded in June 2015 by 5 companies from Normandy, each leader in their field within aerospace : Arelis, Correge, Dedienne Multiplasturgy Group, Ingeliance and Ressorts Masselin.

Nadtek’s objective : to gather the skills of each member and position the company cluster on global offers for the aerospace and defense industries. With a total turnover above 170 million euros and more than 1 600 employees, Nadtek has become a “open” joint stock company that could accommodate for new members in the future. Not a club, not an Economic Interest Group, Nadtek is a company that brings together 2 manufacturers and a design office and which is thus to study, produce and integrate parts in mechanics as well as electronics.

MMB/VOLUM-e was present during the 4th edition of 3D Print, a trade show exclusively dedicated to additive manufacturing and which, took place in Lyon Eurexpo from June 13th to 16th 2017.

This wide event, gathering 180 exhibitors covering the entire industrial chain of additive manufacturing, allows manufacturers to have a global vision of these technologies in effervescence.

Moreover, several exhibitions of machines and softwares, a program of conferences and high-level workshops were organized and free to access. Eric Baustret, R&D Manager MMB / VOLUM-e, presented on : “New materials : new possibilities in additive manufacturing”.

3D Print trophy 2017

MMB / VOLUM-e won the jury’s “Coup de coeur” award for the realization of the pendant “L’Ange Pleureur” from Amiens’s cathedral.

This project, initiated by the jeweler Flinois and in collaboration with the companies Arceo, Etoele and Pixo 3D, was made in 18 carats gold using additive manufacturing.
