The ISO 9001 norm is based on a series of quality management principles, in particular Customer orientation, engaged leadership, management by process and constant improvement.

This certification serve as a guarantee to customers for obtaining products and services of high and constant quality.

Suppliers to Aerospace, space and defense.

The EN 9100 norm ensures that high quality standards in compliance with the Aerospace and defense markets are met. This certification ensures that management processes are in place in order to achieve constant improvements in operations and to offer customers ever more favorable terms regardind quality, price and lead time.

Furthermore,metal additive manufacturing capabilities at VOLUM-e are by several players in the industry (Thalès, ArianeGroup, Safran).

Medical devices

The ISO 13485 norm is currently in the preparation stage by VOLUM-e team members who develop Customer projects in the medical industry.

This norm establishes quality management system requirements for organizations which must demonstrate their ability to reliably supply medical devices and associated services in compliance with Customer specifications and the regulation in force.

VOLUM-e dedicates significant resources to research activities : equivalent to 5 full-time jobs in 2017. These activies consist in technology intelligence, self-funded innovation or R&D projects in partnership.

R&D activities enable both VOLUM-e and Partner organizations to develop new competencies in additive manufacturing technologies or related processes. VOLUM-e innovates to unlock new possible futures and thereby gain a competitive edge.

VOLUM-e is represented by its R&D Director in several committees for standardizing additive manufacturing :

  • President of the UNM 920 committee within the Union de Normalisation de la Mécanique,
  • Member of the ISO/TC 250 committee within the International Standardization Organization,
  • Member of the joint group ISO/ASTM (between the European and the American standardization authorities) on additive manufacturing.
